DIY Newborn Matching Hairband for Daughter and Mother

Hi everyone, today I want to share DIY lesson how to make a very easy hairband for your newborn and yourself.
You will need:
1. Any material which is stretchy, I took an old t-shirt which already wanted to throw away.
2. Some synthetic material of matching colours (I had a lining material and tulle)
3. Beads
4. Tweezers
5. Candle
6. Needle and thread

What you need to do - is to cut different diameter circles from the material, alternating the materials to create volume of your future flower.
Materials to work with.
I was creating not round and ideal flower petals, because I wanted to use square pieces of the material, it created melted corners and the volume of the individual petal. To create a petal, you need to take tweezers and hold the petal material with tweezers while accurately approaching the lighted candle with the material. I recommend to have an open window for the better air circulation and not to inhale the bad air of melted materials.

After you melt all petals, you need to put petals one into one to create the beautiful and more matching flower. Once you are happy with the result, you take a needle and fix the flower with a couple of petals. To create a more beautiful result, I'm using beads and put them inside the flower.

After you are done with the flowers - you can experiment and see how many you would like to have on one band - one for the newborns and you can have more for an adult, you need to prepare the band, where you will fix the flowers. I took the t-shirt and cut a strip of a t-shirt of approximately 3-4cm. The material is elastic and stretchy, it will curl up and become thinner. With the needle and a thread you fix the flower on the strip.
After that you enjoy the photosessison with your newborn and the matching outfits.
